Notivate is built to help you prepare ahead. This page explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated April 2026

What we collect

  • Your email address so you can create an account and receive sign-in codes, reminders, and service emails.
  • Names or nicknames, relationships, and important dates that you add so Notivate can build preparation timelines.
  • Optional item details such as travel dates, document renewal dates, gift notes, school events, and other life-admin context you choose to store.
  • Optional health-adjacent data, such as vaccination entries, only when you actively add those items.
  • Timezone, locale, and notification preferences so reminders arrive at the right time and in the right language.
  • Basic usage and technical metadata needed to keep the product working, secure accounts, and understand delivery issues.

Why we collect it

  • To generate preparation timelines, reminders, and context for the events and deadlines you add.
  • To send sign-in codes, transactional emails, occasional product updates, and notification messages connected to your account.
  • To apply your timezone and language preferences so the product works as expected.
  • To prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and keep the service reliable.

Legal basis and health data

  • For the personal data you choose to add to Notivate, our current stated legal basis is consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), with explicit consent obtained when you sign up and start using the service.
  • If you add health-related items, such as vaccination data, we rely on your explicit consent under GDPR Article 9(2)(a).
  • We only process health data when you choose to add those items, and you can remove that data by deleting the item or deleting your account.

Retention and deletion

  • Tracked items are kept while your account is active so Notivate can keep preparing you ahead of time.
  • When you delete your account, the data stored in Notivate is deleted immediately.
  • The Delete account button on the Account page removes your account and all associated data right away.
  • Magic sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.

Your rights

  • You can access and update your account details from the Account page.
  • You can correct information that is inaccurate or out of date by editing it in the product.
  • You can erase your data at any time by deleting items individually or deleting your account.
  • You can request a portable copy of your data, and the Account page is the place where these data-management actions are surfaced.

Cookies and tracking

  • We use a necessary, httpOnly session cookie (notivate_session) to keep you signed in.
  • We use a functional locale-preference cookie (notivate-locale) so the interface can remember your language.
  • We do not run advertising, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your data with third-party advertisers.
  • We do not use third-party ad tracking on Notivate.
